PAUL HAIG - SUNDAY 13 APRIL 2008

Paul HaigThe enigmatic and reclusive Paul Haig is set to play live for the first time since 1989 - to celebrate the release of his 10th solo album ‘go out tonight’.

The energising effect of the reaction to 2007's 'electronic audience' (**** Uncut) was followed by Paul deciding on Jan 1st 2008 that playing live was back on his agenda, after many years out of the spotlight. His only appearances on stage since 1989 have been with Nouvelle Vague and at the Billy Mackenzie 10th anniversary concert in London in Spring 2007.

Who is Paul Haig? He just happened to be lead singer/songwriter in “Josef K, who have become one of the most influential bands in Britain”
(The Guardian)

Paul Haig is an artist whose cult status as an outsider pop genius is now assured. His influence can clearly be heard amongst the current crop of post-punk angular pop-romantics – name checked by both the Killers and Franz Ferdinand. Even the Klaxons featured the classic ‘Sorry For Laughing’ on their ‘bugged out’ compilation.

Paul will appear with a full live band. The set will include acclaimed highlights from his career as well as current material. Including the recent single, ‘Reason’, which was record of the week on Radcliffe/Maconie Show. Mark Radcliffe described ‘Reason’ as ‘a corker’!!!

Support comes from the excellent Laki Mera whose album is also out in April on Paul Haig’s Rhythm Of Life Inc label.
