cottish Band, Lights Out By Nine's origins are firmly rooted in Soul Music, mixed with powerhouse Rhythm & Blues and a blend of New Orleans Funk. They have developed a collection of their own original songs, which has attracted a growing amount of music media attention.

The first ten of those original songs were featured on the “Moving On” album which was originally released in 1998 and premiered by American soul DJ Matt “the Cat” Baldassari on his radio show “Soul Bucket” which broadcast to 6 million people in the Boston, Massachusetts area of the USA.

Subsequently this album was featured on various radio stations all over the world.

A three track single from this album, “Real Love”, which was produced by ex Nazareth guitarist and renowned producer Manny Charlton, added to the band's new found status and the live show was quickly developed to incorporate these new self penned songs.

Lights Out By Nine continued to build on their growing reputation as a great live band, playing gigs and festivals with crowds of up to 20,000 as in Edinburgh's Princes Street Gardens.

Lights Out By Nine play powerhouse rhythm and blues, and have developed a collection of their own original songs, which is commanding a growing amount of media attention. Their debut album was launched by Matt "The Cat" Baldasarri on the "Soul Bucket" radio show on WERS FM to a six million audience in Boston MA. The "Moving On" album was the first opportunity to highlight the song writing ability of LOBN.

The band continued on a musical journey which has seen them develop their soul and blues influences through the years, producing two further studio albums, “Good Morning Mr Universe” and “Make Your Own Luck”, which were top 4 radio hits in America, two live appearances on BBC Radio 2 on the Paul Jones show, and numerous venue, festivals and support appearances with legendary names such as AWB. But, in keeping with the title of their debut album LOBN are indeed ‘moving on’, and have emerged in 2014 with a fresh new sound which includes and embraces the New Orleans genre of Soul Funk Music.

As part of that process the band bade a fond farewell to founder band member Al Hughes in 2013 to enable him to focus on his solo blues career and it is a great pleasure to welcome a long time friend and well established soul and blues man John Frame. The band once again, welcomes back Arthur Cook to follow the inimitable Ronnie Dalrymple behind the drum kit. LOBN arrive with a refreshed set list, and a revived band line up.
