Following the success of his first UK Tour, James Maddock returns to the UK in April 2019 and will once again kick off the tour in Edinburgh - a city he fell in love with last time around!
A rock & roll lifer, James Maddock has been carving his unique path since the 1980s, when the British-born singer/songwriter kicked off his career with a raw, soulful voice; a storyteller's sense of narrative; and the ability to blur the lines between folk, classic pop, and rock.
For those in the know, James - enow long time resident in New York City - is amongst the most respected singer-songwriters around. A closer inspection of his world class CV reveals Rolling Stone named him 'One to watch', he has had more than a couple of major label deals, a Radio 2 Record of the week, an award or two has most certainly come his way and his music has been featured in major US TV series.
As a songwriter, James has co-written with Mike Scott on the new Waterboys album Modern Blues and with Gary Barlow (“Actress”) on Barlow’s new album. More appropriately James has shared stages with any number of legends from Bruce Springsteen (a quoted fan!) to Pete Seger and many others including Willie Nile, Aaron Comess (Spin Doctors) and David Immergluck (Counting Crows).
James Maddock’s latest album is a reflective American songbook - James Maddock style. “If It Ain’t Fixed Don’t Break It” takes you back in time. It’s new music by a reflective rocker and a soulful crooner. These songs are a nod to music that shaped who we are and what we stand for.
