Moving between the worlds of music and theatre, Finn Anderson is one of Scotland's most enchanting storytellers. Drawing on folk, jazz, pop and orchestral influences, Finn’s songs move freely from the soft and sensitive to the bold and dramatic, strung together by intricately crafted lyrics that go straight for the heart.

Finn's second album 'Into the Arms of Ghosts' is an intimate and personal collection of songs exploring longing and belonging, growth and change, love and loss - set against the rivers, coasts and landscapes of his childhood in rural Fife and Perthshire.

This new album follows a string of recent adventures including composing award-winning hit folk musical 'Islander', a solo US tour with Sofar Sounds, and performances at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall alongside Rachel Sermanni, C Duncan and Man of the Minch for Celtic Connections festival as part of LGBTQ folk music collective Bogha-Frois.

“Finn's musicality and knack for poetic storytelling simply steal you away into a world of his own making" Fresh on the Net

“he brings his talents for evocative storytelling, elemental imagery and atmospheric arrangements to bear on his second album” Fiona Shepard, The Scotsman

“Songs of absolute quality" Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music

"Few artists can stir our souls as strongly as Finn Anderson does" Frostclick

The Magic Lantern

The Magic Lantern is the musical moniker of singer-songwriter and composer Jamie Doe, an artist blurring the boundaries between folk, jazz and contemporary music. Born in Australia before moving to the UK at 12, his songs examine the limitless depth of human experience with devastating, joyous results.

His upcoming fourth album 'A Reckoning Bell' written and recorded while helping to care for his father with Alzheimers disease, sees Jamie turn to the piano to explore what loss can teach us about love and how love’s many small acts give a life meaning. The result is a study in masculine vulnerability that sits with and acknowledges the inevitability of a loss witnessed in slow motion and the unexpected moments of joy that sustain us.

The Magic Lantern’s live show is a rich, cathartic and moving experience dedicated to addressing the fear and anxiety present in us all.

‘A Reckoning Bell’ was released on 5 November 2021 via Hectic Eclectic Records.
